Molescan Check to Medical Faculty Students and Patients

Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Department performed the annual ‘Molescan Skin Check’, to raise awareness.

Uludağ University Medical Faculty Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases performed a free “Molescan Skin Check" as one of the "Euromelanoma" campaign centres in Europe and Turkey. With the participation of Prof. Emel Bülbül Başkan, Prof. Dr. Hayriye Sarıcaoğlu, Prof. Kenan Aydoğan, Specialist Serkan Yazıcı and department assistants, in four policlinics of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Department, whole body Molescan and a dermoscopic examination was performed.

President of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Department Prof. Emel Bülbül Başkan gave information about the campaign organized for the 5th time this year and said that their target groups are intern doctors and patients who graduated from the medical faculties. Prof. Emel Bülbül Başkan said; “ We have scanned our students and patients free of charge. We came across very different findings. I've found the findings that some might transform and sent them to the relevant units for monitoring. In addition to screening, intern doctors emphasized the features of suspicious pigmented skin lesions, the importance of early identification of skin cancers and methods of protection and sun protection. Handout brochures were also distributed to participants. "

Euromelanoma, a project that began in Belgium in 1999 with the participation of all European countries, aims to inform the public about skin cancers.
