Uludağ University Takes Part in the World Medical Literature
Doctors working at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine have managed to take part in the world medical literature with the Scoring Method they have developed.
The project called "A Clinical Scoring System for Diagnosis of Ocular Demodicosis" carried out by Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine Ophthalmology Department members Asst. Prof. Sertaç Argun Kıvanç, Assoc. Prof. Berna Akova Budak and Prof. Ahmet Tuncer Özmen and Department of Medical Microbiology Prof. Beyza Ener, Assoc. Prof. Oktay Alver and Exp. Nazmiye Ülkü Tüzemen is now has taken place in world medical literature with the name of Uludağ University.
Asst. Prof. Sertaç Argun Kıvanç and Assoc. Prof. Berna Akova Budak from the the Department of Ophthalmology developed a clinical scoring system that hasn’t previously unveiled by studying changes on eyelashes and eyelid caused by the mites named Demodex and called it "Uludağ Ocular Demodicosis Clinical Scoring (UODS)". The results of this study, which is the first clinical scoring device developed for the diagnosis of ocular demodicosis in the world, will make it easier and quicker to diagnose the disease and provide the possibility to start more accurate treatment.
