Migration Policies Told to Future Diplomats

Migration Policies Told to Future Diplomats

Justice and Development Party Congressman and the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Turkish Group Member Mustafa Yeneroğlu shared his views about the latest migration policies at the “Turkey’s Policies on Migration and Diaspora” conference organized by UU International Relations Community.

The conference, held at the Mete Cengiz Cultural Center, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ulcay, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tevfik Yücedoğru, academicians and students with great interest.

Yeneroğlu pointed out that Turkey has been an intense area of migration and thus migration policies have gained much importance, and he said: “The migration towards our country is on one hand, and on the other hand is migration from our country. And if we consider this numerically, we can speak of 11-12 million internal and the external migration.”

Yeneroğlu also stated that Turkey has taken up a very important task in recent years in the face of human drama, and that migration policy does not only include Syrians. "It is clear that the social participation policies on migration outweigh the issue of managing migrants in the narrow framework and that it is difficult to overcome the problems today by taking into account the issues of 10-15 years later and setting forth projections according to them. When we look at Germany, they calculate the minimum level of education of an immigrant from Iran, for example, and how long it will take for them to reach the point of taxation, and according to calculations, this number is 9 years. An immigrant from Syria is calculated to come to this level in 17-18 years. I think that Turkey should take into account the minimum level of education and other elements. " he said.

ULCAY: GOOD DİPLOMAT BRINGS VICTORY

Rector of Uludag University Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ulcay stated that Turkey is the country that aids the most in the world and said: "We are the second in the world in monetary terms when compared to Gross National Product. This is an indication of how helpful and generous our country is. We can ensure the continuity of this by winning desk-bound wars. We will have so much victory if we can raise diplomats from within you for this matter. "

Justice and Development Party Congressman and the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Turkish Group Member Mustafa Yeneroğlu answered the questions of the students.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tevfik Yücedoğru thanked Yeneroğlu for his participation in the conference by presenting a plaque.
